Our Story & Beliefs
Transformation Weight Control has its origins going back to 2002 when Rich Weil created the weight loss program at the world renowned New York Obesity Research Center at the then St. Luke’s Hospital in New York City.
The Design
It was designed as a “lifestyle-change” medically supervised weight loss program offering weekly closed groups led by health professionals teaching nutrition, exercise, behavior modification, and motivation strategies. I (Rich) created closed groups for optimal social support, where you’re with the same staff and group members for the entire session, and a robust follow-up program where you were able to continue treatment for as long as you wanted — to lose more weight or prevent regain of the weight you lost.
The Evolution
When the COVID pandemic hit in 2020, the program moved online, and then in 2022, Mount Sinai Morningside Hospital closed the weight loss program. Committed to my work, and without missing a beat, I continued online to this day, presenting the exact same programs and more.

Rich Weil, M.Ed., CDE
Exercise Physiologist and Certified Diabetes Educator
Rich is the Founder and Director of Transformation Weight Control and an
exercise physiologist and certified diabetes educator. He is the former director and creator of the weight loss program at the world-renowned New York Obesity Research Center at St. Luke's Hospital in New York City where he worked for 25 years as a clinician and researcher. Rich launched TWC when his program at the hospital closed.
Rich has worked passionately and tirelessly for 44 years in the field of weight loss and diabetes, and still brings that passion and commitment to TWC to this very day. It's safe to say that he has helped and inspired tens of thousands of individuals to live healthier and more productive lives.
The list of his publications, presentations to health-care professionals all over the country about obesity, diabetes, exercise and health, committees he's served on, as well as frequent TV and radio appearances, is far too long for description here.
After all these decades, Rich is as committed to his work as he was over 40 years ago. With TWC, he has created a weight management program that combines an entire career of experience, unlike others you will find, and has assembled a team of health-care professionals as committed as he is.
Rich's name is on the door, so he works as hard as he can to make your experience as successful as possible. You won't be disappointed!

Dr. Megan Pietrucha, Psy.D.
Clinical and Sport Psychologist
Dr. Pietrucha is a licensed clinical and sport psychologist. She
specializes in eating concerns, body image, college student and athlete
mental health, mood disorders, life transitions, stress management, and
performance psychology. She also provides assessment services,
supervision, and clinical consultation.
Dr. Pietrucha completed her bachelor's in
psychology from Illinois Wesleyan University and her master's and
doctoral degrees in clinical psychology from the Illinois School of
Professional Psychology at Argosy University.
Dr. Pietrucha is, as they say, the psychologist's psychologist. The depth and range of her knowledge, experience and skill, is unprecedented. Every group and workshop she runs, and webinar she presents, is as good as it gets. Her unparalleled commitment to helping you achieve your goals is immediately apparent as soon as you meet her. You will be glad that you joined us with Dr. Pietrucha in your corner.

Molly Wangsgaard, MS, RDN, LD, NSCA-CPT, CHWC
Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and Certified Health & Wellness Coach
Molly is a registered dietitian nutritionist, certified personal trainer, certified group exercise instructor, and certified health and wellness coach. Molly received two Bachelor of Science degrees from Kansas State University in Human Nutrition and Kinesiology; a Masters of Science degree in Human Nutrition, Foods and Exercise from Virginia Tech; and completed her dietetic internship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Molly has spent over 20 years working in the fields of nutrition, fitness, weight management, and wellness. She has counseled individuals, facilitated groups, developed programs, and led program development at a commercial weight loss program. Currently, Molly is a Wellness Supervisor at a corporate health center, coaches patients before and after bariatric surgery, and has a small private practice.
Molly is passionate about helping people improve their quality of life. It is a genuine privilege to have Molly on our staff and to watch her work helping you.

Lauren "Casey" Flowers, MS, RD, CDCES
Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and Certified Diabetes Care & Education Specialist
Casey is a Registered Dietitian and Board-Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist with a Master of Science degree in Clinical Nutrition from the University of Memphis. With extensive experience in weight management, she has specialized in bariatrics and outpatient care, developing programs to enhance patient outcomes and promote sustainable weight loss.
Casey is active in the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, and she contributes to the Weight Management Practice Group and serves on the Education Committee for the Georgia American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Chapter (ASMBS).
She co-directed the ASMBS Nutrition Course in 2022 and 2023 and was honored with the Excellence in Nutrition award at the 2023 ASMBS National Conference. In her spare time, she enjoys cheering on the Atlanta Falcons and exploring National Parks.
Casey's knowledge, passion, creativity, training, and experience, makes her a perfect match for the high caliber of staff that we have helping you at Transformation Weight Control.

Michelle Hyman, M.S., RD, CSOWM, CDCES
Registered Dietitian and Certified Dietitian Nutritionist
Michelle is a Registered Dietitian (RD), Certified Dietitian Nutritionist, Certified Specialist in Obesity and Weight Management (CSOWM), and Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES). She received her Master of Science in Nutrition from LIU Post. She has over a decade of experience in the outpatient setting providing care individually and in groups. Her passion is working with clients to develop sustainable eating habits, lose weight, and improve their relationship with food. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, reformer Pilates, and playing volleyball.
Michelle is a tremendously talented healthy cooking teacher. You do not want to miss her Healthy Food Cooking Demo Webinar! It's not always the case that you have a knowledgeable and credentialed health-care professional who also teaches healthy cooking. Michelle will explain the science behind the health benefits of the ingredients and recipes she uses, answer all your questions (she can't be stumped!), plus you'll receive all the recipes she cooks. Her clinical and cooking skills make her a valuable addition to our talented team.

Kristin Carlino, M.S., RDN, CSOWM
Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist and Certified Specialist in Obesity and Weight Management
Kristin is a Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist and a Certified Specialist in Obesity and Weight Management who earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Nutritional Sciences-Dietetics and a Master’s of Science in Food and Nutrition. For over a decade, she has counselled patients one-on-one to meet their individual health and weight goals; spending six of those years at the New Jersey Bariatric and Metabolic Institute specializing in bariatrics and weight loss/management. In 2021, she was tasked with starting and managing a new Food FARMacy program through Jersey City Medical Center/RWJ Barnabas Health which aims to address food insecurity and improve chronic disease states by increasing access to food and nutrition counselling.

Chris Campagnola, BA, CSCS, ACE, LMT
Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist
Chris is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist with the National Strength and Conditioning Association, the premier fitness certification in the United States. Chris is also certified as a fitness trainer by the American Council on Exercise, and he is a licensed massage therapist.
Chris has been a personal trainer for 30 years. He’s worked with individuals and groups, with populations ranging from young and fit to older adults with neuromuscular and skeletal conditions. Chris develops an excellent rapport with his clients, and has the ability to tune in to any physical limitations one may be experiencing and modify the exercises accordingly.
We recommend that you never miss a TWC online exercise class with Chris. You’ll feel safe and well taken care of with Chris as your exercise coach and trainer. He is outstanding and a vital part of our exercise team. We could not be more thrilled to consider him a colleague and have him working with you.

Jamie Campagnola, NASM, CPT
Certified Personal Trainer and Health Coach
Rounding out our fitness training staff is Jamie Campagnola. Yes, Chris and Jamie are married! Together they present the TWC online exercise class!
Jamie is a National Academy of Sports Medicine Certified Personal Trainer and health coach. She specializes in virtual group training with a focus on individuals who are new to exercise.
Jamie's gentle approach makes her clients feel very welcome and at ease incorporating the HABIT of exercising into their weekly schedule. She is excellent at understanding what makes one feel good through movement.
She and Chris lead an exercise class like none you've ever taken. It's simply a pleasure to have Jamie as one of our very skilled, experienced, and knowledgeable staff. Her contribution is priceless.

Jojo is a very special team member. He is Rich’s beloved dog, NYC neighborhood celebrity, and Transformation Weight Control’s official, unofficial mascot. He loves being adored by his fans and cheering you on in your success in the program.
