Our Story & Beliefs
Transformation Weight Control has its origins going back to 2002 when Rich Weil created the weight loss program at the world renowned New York Obesity Research Center at St. Luke’s Hospital in New York City, now known as Mount Sinai Morningside Hospital.
The Design
It was designed as a “lifestyle-change” medically supervised weight loss program offering weekly closed groups led by health professionals teaching nutrition, exercise, behavior modification, and motivation strategies. I (Rich) created closed groups for optimal social support, where you’re with the same staff and group members for the entire session, and a robust follow-up program where you were able to continue treatment for as long as you wanted — to lose more weight or prevent regain of the weight you lost.
The Evolution
When the COVID pandemic hit in 2020, the program moved online, and then in 2022, Mount Sinai Morningside Hospital closed the weight loss program. Committed to my work, and without missing a beat, I continued online to this day, presenting the exact same programs and more.

I never thought a support group for taking a medication of any type would be helpful or necessary. I was wrong. I am so glad to have found this group and taken a chance on participating at the suggestion of my doctor. It has been a godsend and has helped me in more ways than I could have imagined.
